A lifelong equestrian, Ashley is a lover of all things that come with life in the country! Since her move to Fayette County in 2002, she's accumulated 4 horses, 5 dogs and too many crossbred cows, chickens and Guinea to count! Her affectionate Jack Russell terriers bring her happiness, as do the opportunities she has to compete, in equestrian sports. 2024 marks Ruth Ann's 22nd year in the real estate profession. She is a seventh-generation Texan and fourth-generation Houstonian and began her real estate career at John Daugherty, Realtors and Greenwood King Properties in Houston. She has strong family ties to the Round Top area and grew up spending time with relatives in Fayette County. Ruth Ann and her husband, Stephen, decided Round Top would be the ideal place to raise their three daughters. With many years of experience in the high-paced Houston real estate market, she brought to Round Top Real Estate strategic negotiating skills, first-rate marketing ideas for property listings, and a drive to assist her clients in finding the perfect property. Ruth Ann's husband Steve also works in the real estate industry as underwriting counsel for Old Republic Title Insurance Company

Ruth Ann attended Duchesne Academy in Houston and remains an active alumnae board member. She received her B.A. in English from The University of the South (Sewanee) in Tennessee, graduating with Distinction. She is currently a member of the Round Top Chamber of Commerce, The Round Top DYD Club, and The Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce. She is actively involved as a church and school volunteer.

Ruth Ann enjoys gardening, antiquing, and entertaining her out-of-town friends and family in scenic Round Top. When she's not working and wants to get away, Ruth Ann and her husband and daughters enjoy road trips with the goal of visiting all 50 states.

Jack brings a wealth of knowledge in wildlife, native plants, and country property experience. His professional life has been spent in sales, most of that time working with rural clients in central and south Texas. Building strong, lasting relationships has been the key to his success over the past 30+years.

Jack grew up spending time with family on his parent's ranch in the Texas hill country where he learned to love the land from his father. He also spent many years working with his father in law on the family farm near Hockley.

While at Texas A&M University, Jack studied Wildlife Fisheries Science, Forestry, Biology and earned bachelors degree in Animal Science. This knowledge along with a lifelong love of hunting, fishing, camping and the outdoors, has giving him a broad knowledge base and insight into farm and ranch property.

He and his wife Laurie moved recently to their property in Fayette County near Fayetteville, Tx. They have two grown kids with wonderful spouses, three grandchildren and lots of family. They are leaders in their church, Grace Bible Church and involved in many charitable organizations including Camp For All in Washington County.
In his spare time, Jack enjoys camping, gardening, long walks with his dog Charlie, hunting, travelling, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

"It's impossible to be in the country and be in a bad mood at the same time!" After leaving a 40-year career in banking in Houston, Lila joined Round Top Real Estate in late 2011. Lila is a native Houstonian and a graduate of the University of Houston. She has strong lifelong ties to the Round Top area and loves and appreciates all Round Top has to offer. Lila's great grandparents emigrated from Germany and settled in northern Fayette County. Her parents and grandparents were born and lived in the Round Top area. She is proud to now own a part of her grandparent's farm. Lila's husband, Barton, was born in Burton and grew up in the La Bahia community. They have one son, Phillip Brau Garlin, a graduate of the University of Kansas, who lives and works in Houston. Since Barton's retirement from Chevron Corporation, they have ranched on the family properties. The La Bahia property has been continuously owned by the family and kept in agricultural operation since the early 1870s, gaining it the proud recognition as a State of Texas Family Land Heritage property — a "Century Farm." Lila's history of the area and her love for this part of Texas gives her a unique perspective to share with her clients. Lila enjoys her association with several local organizations — The Sons of Hermann Round Top Lodge #151, the Round Top DYD Club, the Carmine Lions Club, the Republican Women of Fayette County, the La Bahia Turn Verein, the Navidad Valley Cattle Women, the Carmine Chamber of Commerce and the Walhalla Homemakers Club. She attends Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top.

Emily Kahanek Shaw has lived in the Round Top and La Grange area her entire life. She is a native of Fayette County; her family roots go back generations. After college Emily married her high school sweetheart, Casey and they have 4 children. As a team, Casey and Emily operate CE Cattle Co. and their investment properties. After we realized how peaceful the country life can be, we purchased acreage in Washington County, Texas between the small towns of Burton and Round Top. My husband of 41 years, Don Blome (who is also a licensed Tx Realtor) and our three adult children and 5 grandchildren enjoy sharing our stunning sunsets, the dark country skies, various wildlife, roaming the acreage in our CanAm and fishing in our pond.
